Many new works by me and commissioned by my tuba quartet will be performed and live-streamed in the coming month. Friday, Nov. 4th at 5pm, SVS Recital Hall: Octubafest II

The second of three nights of tuba and euphonium solos, including two works written by me and two performed by me:

Julia Bovee and Lonnie Ostrander premiere my a patchwork dream for euphonium and piano
Lukas Schroeder and Makenzie Mattis premiere my Three Pictures for Tuba and Marimba
I play the euphonium premiere of Marc Mellit’s “Mara’s Lullaby” with Makenzie Mattis (marimba) and Lonnie Ostrander (piano)
…along with several other classic works for tuba and euphonium!

Sunday, Nov 6th at 5pm, SVS Recital Hall: Octubafest IV

The GVSU tuba quartets take on traditional and not-so-traditional repertoire, including Mike Forbes Consequences, an arrangement of Black Sabbath’s Iron Man, a set of newly commissioned works for the Bassment Boys Tuba Quartet, and more! We will premiere:

Make It Stop (Or Don’t) by Wade Selkirk
Particle Horizon (Section I) by John Jansen
Clash of Forces by Josh Doane

Sunday, Nov. 20th at 4pm, Room 1410 (Choir Room): Its Happening… A Senior Composition Recital

My senior composition recital! Program includes:

Waiting for Niko premiering Brothrrs, On the Changing Repertory of Birdsong, Sailing for a Round Earth, and an arrangement of Patrick Carroll’s Chase it Anway
The GVSU Trombone Quartet premiering Quartet for Trombones
The GQ Saxophone Quartet performing In Search of a Beer Mug
Lukas Schroeder and Makenzie Mattis playing Three Pictures for Tuba and Marimba
Julia Bovee and Lonnie Ostrander playing a patchwork dream

and a variety of Fluxus Events by various other artists.
