May 2023: Birthdays, Installations

Hi everybody,

It was my birthday this month. And my brother’s. Nice.

I’ve been working gobs and gobs, which isn’t very birthday-like, but one could argue that finding work is indeed a great birthday gift. I’m also enjoying new socks — thanks Mom.

As another fine birthday gift, my works are being installed on two continents in the coming weeks:

moves, my work for animated chess board and live ensemble, is being presented as a video installation at the World Chess Hall of Fame in St. Louis, Missouri. The exhibit opened this month and runs until January 28th, 2024.

When Not There, a new collaborative installation for video and sculptures, gets its public debut at the KABK third year festival, Everything that grows underground, from June 2-4 at West, The Hague.
(which happens to be the hilariously brutalist site of the former U.S. Embassy)

You can find out more about the World Chess Hall of Fame exhibit here, or learn how to visit us underground on Instagram.

quick reminder if you’re reading this in your inbox, it looks much nicer in a browser!
Will I ever fix this? Who knows!!
